In the press: Hard work pays off for Aberdeen merchandising company as it welcomes new clients amid challenging times

Business is booming for an Aberdeen-based promotional merchandise company as it announces a number of new clients from across the North and North-east of Scotland.

Despite the economic downturn and the challenges many industries are facing with Covid-19, Concept Promotional Merchandise has secured over 30 new accounts in the last four months with average weekly sales on the increase.

Established in 1998, Concept is a leader in the field of corporate merchandise in Scotland and is focused on helping clients increase brand awareness through the effective use of promotional merchandise.

Concept’s client base has grown significantly with the company evolving into a professional and respected local business.

Commenting on the company’s latest success, managing director Bob Christie, who has been at the helm since setting up the business 22 years ago, says: “We continue to build relationships with local businesses and we are delighted to welcome in excess of 30 new clients onboard with Concept.

“We have adapted to difficult market conditions and have had to get creative to support changing demands,” says Bob. “We continue to meet these challenges head on and part of our success is staying true to who we are. We work hard to ensure our service is tailored to each individual client and I truly believe what sets us apart is the personal touch that we deliver from start to finish.”

With recent investment in new technology, Concept has continued to improve its business and quality service. From its premises in Aberdeen’s Commerce Street, Bob and his team work to source, supply and brand corporate giveaways, branded clothing and merchandise to a wide range of sectors including energy, hospitality, transport and professional services.

“Without a doubt, Covid-19 has been the toughest challenge of my career,” continues Bob. I do not know how we are still thriving, but tenacity, resilience and sheer hard graft combined with a positive outlook has paid off. We genuinely love what we do and we value and appreciate each and every one of our customers.”

The company employs seven members of staff, one of which joined recently to up-scale in-house embroidery operations as well as increase focus on key account management. Concept has the capability and expertise to brand quality products from Aberdeen, which gives added flexibility to deliver multiple jobs simultaneously to shorten lead-times and reduce costs for our customers.

“This is unrivalled in Aberdeen and combined with our global network of trusted suppliers really gives us the edge,” says Bob.

Some of the recently added promotional merchandise items available from Concept in reaction to this year’s pandemic requirements now include branded face masks and snoods, as well as hand sanitiser and anti-bacterial pens.

Mr Christie is also the chairman of a UK wide network of 20 leading promotional merchandise companies, ensuring Concept remains bang on trend and well positioned to negotiate the best deals with global suppliers to remain extremely competitive.
